TDBA Pursuit of Excellence Award Winners: This award is given to B and C ranked players based on their academics at school, their involvement in their community and the candidate's explanation about why they deserve this award.
The Board members reviewed all the applications and came to a consensus on this year's award winners. Congratulations to Dylan Liu and Rachel Liu who play out of APlus Badminton Club!
Dylan is a solid academic student. He is hard working and volunteers at the club. Dylan is committed and dedicated to improving his badminton game. He plays in the Jr. C tournaments. In the future, he would like to play on the international stage and mentor younger players.
Rachel is an excellent academic student who spends countless hours giving back to the community at a variety of places such as the club, the Oakville Library and Halton Youth Social Justice just to name a few. She works with a variety of people from young to old. Rachel is patient, resilient and perseveres at all tasks. With just 2 years experience in the sport of badminton, she is quickly rising in the ranks. Rachel plays in the Jr. B tournaments and she looks forward to competing in the A level tournaments this season. TDBA wishes both these young athletes all the best in their future endeavors!

TDBA 2025-26 Affiliation: Welcome to a new season!
TDBA's affiliation form for this season is valid from September 1, 2025 - August 31, 2026.
FYI
At Badminton Ontario's AGM in June 2025, it was stated:
Clubs will be required to list each location as a separate club to ensure fairness within tournament events.
As a result, TDBA will charge each club location $75.00 to align with Badminton Ontario's requirement.
If you have more than one location, please fill out a separate affiliation form for each one.
If you wish to affiliate, please complete the form and email it back to me. You can find payment information at the top of the form. I will inform Badminton Ontario of your affiliation once I have received the completed form along with payment.
Here are the steps clubs need to do in order to affiliate.
The club affiliates with TDBA for $75.00.
Please NOTE: If any of your club players want to play in any Badminton Ontario tournaments, the CLUB MUST affiliate with Badminton Ontario.
Then the club affiliates with Badminton Ontario 2 ways:
1. as an insured club (general commercial liability for the club & sports accident for the individual), the club pays $7.00/individual
2. as an affiliated club (no insurance): flat rate depending on the number of players the club has (please see BON's website for more information)
Please ensure that you respond to them when they email you. Failure to do so means that Badminton Ontario does not recognize you as an affiliated club.
The individuals who play in tournaments then need to purchase a BON membership on their own. Please see BON's website for more details. https://www.badmintonontario.ca/membership/
